Generating Amazon Affiliate Links
Last updated: August 18, 2026
How to create and manage Levanta links for Amazon products. For Walmart and Shopify, see Generating and Managing Affiliate Links in Levanta.
The 10-click threshold
Each Amazon Levanta link has a 10-click threshold, meaning performance metrics will only be visible after the link receives at least 10 unique clicks. Any activity before reaching this threshold is still tracked but remains inaccessible until the threshold is met.
Clicks typically show up within 24 hours, and conversions can take up to 48 hours to fully process and display in Levanta.
Walmart and Shopify links have no click threshold.
Link format
By default, Amazon Levanta links are mobile-optimized, ensuring that mobile users are seamlessly directed to the Amazon app for a better purchasing experience. These links typically follow this format:
If you prefer a non-mobile-optimized version, you can untick the Mobile Optimized Link option during link creation. This will generate a standard Amazon link, retaining all Levanta tracking parameters. If you are using a third-party link-shortening or management service (e.g., Bit.ly, TinyURL, URLGenius), you should use the expanded, non-mobile-optimized version of the link to ensure proper tracking.
Generating a link
Navigate to the Product Page: In your Levanta dashboard, go to Discover > Product Catalog or Partnerships > My Products and select the product for which you'd like to generate a link. You can also search for an ASIN in either section.
Create a New Link: Scroll to the Create New Link button below the Product Details section.
Configure Your Link:
Mobile Optimized (Default): Ensures the Amazon app opens for mobile users.
Non-Optimized: Untick the Mobile Optimized Link box if you want to use the raw Amazon URL with tracking parameters.
Generate the Link: Once configured, click Create Link to finalize the process.
Advanced options: using Sources for granular tracking
Levanta allows you to create multiple tracking links per product to monitor performance across different channels, platforms, or campaigns. This is done through the Advanced Options dropdown, where you can add custom Sources.
Primary ID: A unique identifier for tracking (e.g., a random code like 93eptr4u or a descriptive name like JuneFB).
Display Name: A clear name for the link in your dashboard (e.g., June Facebook Campaign).
Sub ID: An additional identifier to track variations within a Source (e.g., Story1 to track different creative assets).
Note: Since each new source regenerates the unique IDs within Amazon links, each one will also need to accumulate 10 clicks before reporting performance metrics. For this reason, it is not advisable to use granular source or sub-source IDs on Amazon.
Storefront links
Although storefront links can be created to cover specific pages within a brand's Amazon store, we find that individual product links deliver the best performance and highest conversions. If you'd prefer to create a link to a brand's storefront page:
Navigate to a brand page via Discovery > Brands or Partnerships > Brands.
Once on the brand page, click into Storefront Links.
Click + Create New Link. Once this interface has opened, you can click out to preview the brand's storefront page if needed.
You can copy the default link shown by clicking Save & Copy, or follow the steps above for standard product links to get a standard Amazon link (versus the Mobile Optimized Link) or to add Source IDs to the link.
Note: Not all Levanta brands allow for storefront links. If you do not see the Storefront Links option within the brand page, the brand has not enabled the ability to generate links to their storefront.
Using your links
Once your Levanta link is created, you can use it just like an Amazon Associates or traditional affiliate link. You'll begin seeing traffic data after 10 clicks and conversions after the first recorded sale.
